June 2016 Culinary Adventure

Hello. Glad to be back! My family and I had just got over with our holiday a few weeks ago. Yep, I've posted many pictures, mostly outfit pictures on my Instagram (click here to follow me!) and there you might have guessed correctly that I went to Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore. They are very near yet still have special place in my heart.

After the holiday I had to sort through all photos (thousands, literally) and decide which ones deserve to be posted in this post. I was planning to put all things I ate (or drank) at first, but since it's way too many to handle, I'd rather pick the best foods and drink I had throughout our trip. I know.. You might think that it's very common going to these countries but hey! Why not sharing some of their amazing foods here? You may wanna put these items in your food hunting list next time you're visiting these countries.
I am listing out the best foods and drink I had during my holiday. I am posting some amazing foods I had in Malaysia and Thailand, but unfortunately I don't have any favorites in Singapore this time so it's off the list.

Well here is the list of amazing foods and drinks that I enjoyed having during my holiday. I put the names of places where I had these as well. Here we go.

Malaysia
Char Kway dipped into Bak Kut Teh soup for breakfast. So good!
Rice Balls. Very popular here. You can find this at Jonker Street.
DURIAN PUFFS. Best puffs I've ever had so far! Find this at Jonker Street as well
Must try menu #1 in Soon Wah, Klaang
Must try menu #2 in Soon Wah, Klaang
Herbal Jelly at Koong Woh Tong in Aeon Mall (I forgot whether it was Jusco or Bandaraya). Amazing way to do some detox thing which is very popular nowadays.
You may pour sugar to give better taste to the herbal jelly

 Thailand
Noodle soup. You can find it anywhere in Thailand. Some of them are good and some are okay. The best noodle soup I had was on the sidewalk near Aree BTS. Find a stall with a married couple who couldn't speak English but very nice and cheerful (hoping you catch the right couple hehe!). They sold the best noodle soup!
Red Curry with Seafood
Mango Tango at Mango Tango, Siam Walk
Yellow Curry with Seafood at Thai Smile, Phuket
Fried Rice with Seafood at Thai Smile, Phuket.
Seafood with Cashew Nuts at Thai Smile, Phuket. Delicious.
Tomka or Tom Kha Soup at Thai Smile, Phuket
Chicken with Asparagus at Thai Smile, Phuket
Fried Rice in Pineapple at No. 6 Restaurant, Phuket
PAD THAI. FIND THEM EVERYWHERE IN THAILAND.
Street Food Satays. Find them in the night markets. They tasted pretty great.
MUST TRY. Noodle Roll @ Banzan Night Market, Phuket
Pork Sausage at Taling Chan Floating Market. You can find this anywhere in Thailand, too, but some sell the very greasy sausages (which of course, will not taste good). Make sure you pay attention to the sellers' hygiene and look if their sausages are just greasy or VERY greasy.

Chicken Rice near Aree BTS. SO GOOD! They have different sauce for different servings of chicken cutlet. As you can see, the left side (fried chicken cutlet) has the red sauce on it and we were told to pour the black sauce to the steamed chicken (I did not take picture at that time. I'm sorry. I was just too hungry and too excited) but actually you can choose to put the different sauce according to your preference.

And the best drink will always be..

ICED TEA (what a Thai calls this)
or
THAI ICED TEA (what we call this)

If you have ever had these please let me know what you think on the comments below, and if you haven't, make sure you try these on your next trip to these two countries.

TARTE HOLIDAZE - LIGHT OF THE PARTY [REVIEW] + 3 different looks

It is the last day of 2015. I am sure that many of you have that special make up kit you rely on this year. For me, that special kit is this stylish Light of the Party Makeup Palette by Tarte Holidaze series. This make up palette includes thirty eyeshadows, three cheek products (a bronzer, a blush, and a highlighter), a travel-sized mascara and a double-ended brush for eyeshadows and the cheek products.

The main case is quite big and when you open this case by unzipping it you will find a separate palette which is travel-sized with six neutral colored eyeshadows, a bronzer, a blush, and a higlighter. I found this smart, knowing that the case is quite big and it's not convenient to bring the whole product to your party. By having this separate palette, we can bring it with us everywhere, not only parties but literally all occasion. Ladies out there, if you are traveling a lot and prioritize practicality, but still want to look good, this thin and light separate palette will come in handy for you.

The thirty shades of eyeshadows are very neutral and they go well with all skin-colors. The colors are also well-pigmented and so subtle when applied to the skin. I would personally say this is just the right makeup palette for me. Here are my three favorite looks using the stuffs from Light of the Party. I hope you find it useful :)

1. "No makeup" Fresh Look

This look is for everyday look when you want to look just fresh throughout the day. The shades used in this look are:
Popcorn Strand
Wrapped Up
Tartetini
In a Flurry

2. Warm-toned Look

This look is suitable for celebrating special days with your family such as Christmas (this was my Christmas look FYI) and birthdays or for dating. It is warm-toned and makes you look more mature and decent. Moreover, it makes your skin look healthier, too.
The shades used are:
Baby it's Gold Outside (for inner corner of your eyes)
Mulled Wine
Gingerbread Mansion

3. Neutral Chic Look

This look is suitable for you who want to look chic but not dramatic for parties. Add some fake lashes and you are good to go!
Shades used in this look are:
Shining Star (for inner corner of your eyes)
Yule be Surprised
Wrapped Up
Haute Chocolate

Today is the last day of 2015. Let's embrace this moment. If this year has been a beautiful year for you, I hope you will have the more beautiful one in 2016. If this year, in contrast, is has not been awesome, then I hope it will in 2016!

Remember that every new day is a second chance!

Cheers from me, and
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2016!!!

The Natural Lashes

Hello!

Today's post will be my very first make up review ever in The Pixie Parade. I got the urge to write about these items because they are worth recommending and I've been using these items for a long enough time and of course, still in love with these babies since the first time I used them.

The items that I'll be reviewing AND recommending here are:

3. Clerence Victoria's Lashes - Giselle

The pictures below are pictures of me with very minimum make up so we can see how these items originally look like without any heavy make up.

Here we go!

First of all, here are my bare lashes (if you could notice that I actually HAVE lashes haha):

And our first item here:

Urban Decay's Cannonball Ultra Waterproof Mascara
Urban Decay's Cannonball Ultra Waterproof Mascara

Here's how the mascara works! I personally think that this mascara has been doing an amazing job on my lashes. Urban Decay is not joking around by naming it "Ultra Waterproof Mascara" because it IS waterproof. I had once tried washing my face with my facial foam and it stays there. For cleaning it, I only need to use cleansing oil and they are gone.
However, sometimes when your eyelids are oily, it would smudge. What I usually do to deal with it is by bringing some cotton buds when I go out. You can easily wipe the smudges off by this.

Next items are the fake (but natural, believe me.) lashes by Clerence Victoria, an Indonesian local brand for lashes, make up class and also MUA. They sell a good quality yet affordable in price, cost less than 100k IDR! I remember I bought them during Lebaran holiday for just 50k/pack. Definitely a YAY, don't you think?

Indonesian product FTW! And they are also made of 100% human hair which makes them comfortable to be worn.
Let's see how they work.

These lashes are amazingly natural. Recommended for casual occasion such as hanging out with friends, working daily and other events in which you want to look as if you have naturally beautiful (and visible!) eyelashes. Here's how they work on my eyes:

#Giselle

They are undoubtedly beautiful and look natural as well! If you are a beginner or just prefer natural-looking make up like me, these are suitable for party. When I was about to choose this at the first place, a friend of mine told me that these are too natural for her and she would need two layers of these for parties. It means, if you are more advanced or if you like a more dramatic-looking eyelashes the suggestion is: layer these lashes into two stacks of lashes! That sounds pretty good, but I prefer purchasing another type of CV lashes which looks more dramatic (since I also plan to purchase other types of lashes from CV) rather than putting two layers of lashes on my eyelids.

Well, maybe I'll get into that point when I enjoy putting many stacks of eyelashes on my eyelids–I'll let you know if I do.

Here's how they look like:

Here are some of the full-face version of the eyes you've just seen in the pics above. Yes, I recently had a new (but old) haircut. It always feels good to have short hair again!

Let me know what you think. If you are also using one of the items here, please feel free to leave a comment!

Thank you so much for reading. See you on my next post!
